Open House: Options Inc. New Outdoor Programming Space

Over the course of the pandemic, Options, Inc. had to adjust how we deliver services to meet state and federal requirements. One of the things we discovered is that being outside was a liberating, joyful experience. When outside, clients and staff could remove masks and spend time with people outside their cohort. 

We also learned that Options doesn’t currently have usable, accessible outdoor space for people to use on their own or in groups. We made it a goal to remedy that as soon as possible. 

We are excited to announce we are creating a new outdoor programming space for everyone to enjoy -- Outside Options. We are launching a fundraising campaign to help us develop this special outdoor space and are holding an Open House on Wednesday, June 8, 4:00-6:00 pm at our facility (16820 197th Ave. NW, Big Lake) to share information and ask for community support. 

We are working with a landscape professional to put these ideas into a plan that will create walking paths, seating areas, a bocce court, areas for people to plant, native planting areas, green space and areas for people to gather. The space will also include a large gazebo to provide shelter from the sun and rain. 

We are excited about the opportunities this project will create -- from classes in the gazebo to beautiful spaces for quiet time alone. Please mark down Wednesday, June 8, 4:00-6:00 pm for our kick-off event and send us an email at admin@options-inc.org to RSVP if you can join us.
